Long time no carve

We have a week off from school and it is the first time since the school year started that I felt like carving

  1. So, is the carving different from the phoenix?
What is the intent of the phoenix? I like the carving a lot, the phoenix feels more like uhhh- set design? charachter animation??
the base drawing is powerful and i really favor the carving, it is a strong piece.

  2. Yes the carving is by far the more developed piece. Both pieces have an environmental intention. The carving is a representation of the sun and the face is meant to feel angry. This piece goes along the theme of the anger nature should feel towards humans for the treatment of the world.

The phoenix is a more hopeful piece it is made of all reused materials and is merely intended as a piece to raise awareness of reuse and recycling.
